The dream team is back. Well, nobody really calls them the “Dream Team” but they do – anyway, they’ve rustled up the top stories at Microsoft this week and here they are:

What happens in Vegas, happened at MIX!
Laura’s Keynote Demo
FourSquare & Bing, a natural fit
Seinfeld & Gates ads explained
Microsoft goes to Coachella???

…the furry coat (pre-Laura’s capture of it)

Sure, sure. MIX is mostly all about the great keynotes, sessions, networking, and all the awesome content that is going to make your brain hurt in a good way, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go out for a good time while you’re in Sin City! On this, our last Countdown to MIX10 show, @anyware and @ritzy get advice from THE cocktail evangelist, Robert Hess, who tells us where to find a mean cocktail in Vegas. If we’re not at the conference, you might find us bellied up to a bar somewhere, and if you do, maybe your next round will be on us.  See ya in Vegas!

This is our last show for MIX! Thanks all for your tremendous help!!!

Do you think when the MIX event comes to a close that we close up shop and go away for a year until the next conference?  No way.  Meet Thomas Lewis (or TommyLee as some of us like to call him), manager of the MIX Online team.  Folks like Thomas and his band of designers and developers keep the conversation going by writing strongly voiced editorial pieces about the standards-based web, speaking at events all over the globe, or building and releasing (for free, of course) open source software for folks to use.  This team is breaking down barriers and giving a unique perspective to the web . . . one you may not necessarily expect to hear from Microsoft.  And we like it that way!  Meet Thomas, and the whole MIX Online gang, in Vegas at MIX10.  Register today.  http://live.visitmix.com/

The regular conference content just isn’t enough to fill your brain?  That’s cool, we’ve got a whole day of pre-conference intense sessions we’re offering that will help you get even more out of your trip to Vegas.  Joshua Allen joins us to talk about the MIX10 Workshops this year, and give us the goods on what to expect.  HTML5, media processing, design tools and techniques, and scaling web apps to the cloud are among the boot camp selections from which you can choose.  If you register today, before our special offer ends, you’ll get a free room night at the Mandalay Bay hotel which will be a good chunk of $$ you can put towards the Workshop fee. http://live.visitmix.com
