I’m back with Boris Scholl, the Program Manager who designed the BDC Model designer in Visual Studio 2010. Boris is a SharePoint expert, and in this interview he shares some tips and tricks having to do with BDC model deployment to SharePoint 2010. He provides insight into what the designer is doing behind the scenes, what happens when you deploy the package, and how you can configure it to do exactly what you need.

Boris and I are good friends and in this interview we joke around a bit as he explains to me (a total SharePoint n00b!) how BDC models work. Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

While at MIX10, John catches up with Jesse Liberty and Tim Heuer to discuss their favorite features in Silverlight 4. Along with calling out and discussing why they’re each impressed with their favorite features, Jesse, Tim, and John also discuss the impact of the announcements made at MIX regarding development for WP7 and Silverlight at the Day 1 keynote.

You can also check out the 60+ page whitepaper that covers the full feature list of all the new features in Silverlight 4 online (or you can download it).

Follow us on Twitter @SilverlightTV or learn more about Silverlight with the Silverlight Training Course on Channel 9.

In February I popped on over to building 42 and met with my friend, Jeff Handley, who works on the WCF RIA Services team. Jeff talked about what it’s like to work on RIA Services, sharing with the community, and openness at Microsoft. Then we chatted a bit about framework development vs. application development and what it means to put something out to the public in released bits.

Jeff and I also talked about what it’s like to come back to an office full of popcorn, as well as some tidbits regarding some RIA Services and validation changes coming up as RIA Services takes on INotifyDataErrorInfo vs. the old exception-based validation approach.

The upcoming release of Sharepoint 2010 will provide features and capabilities which will allow it to directly support Silverlight development and controls. At PDC09, Paul Stubbs held a session where he showed off many of these features, and walked the audience through the process of how to utilize Silverlight from a Sharepoint website.

In this episode, I meet with Paul, and he briefly shows us how easy it is to do Silverlight development on a Sharepoint 2010 website.

If you’d like more details on this, you can view the entire session from PDC09 here:
